Sacraments

For
children from infant to age 6
The Birth of a new child
is a very happy and holy event. When we introduce the child
into the Church Community through Baptism, it is a celebration for
all!! Before a child is baptized, parents are invited to come
for an interview as well as participate in a preparation session.
Our next Baptismal Preparation Course will take place in May 2010. Please call the office to register.
For children ages 7 - 13
Christian Initiation for Children (RCIC)
This process leads to
membership in the Catholic Church. The program is for children
ages 7-13, or youth ages 13-18, who were not baptized as infants.
Reception into the Catholic church takes place after a period of
instruction and formation of the children and their parents.
For teens, young adults, or adults
Rite of Christian Initiation for
Adults (RCIA)
This is a process which leads to full membership
in the Catholic Church. Baptized teens, young adults or adults
who have not received their first communion, or who have not been
confirmed will be prepared for confirmation and to join us at the
Lord's table in conjunction with this process.
FIRST RECONCILIATION
First
Reconciliation is one of the seven sacraments in our Church. In our
community, we celebrate this sacrament in Grade 3. If you have a
child in Grade 3 outside of our school, please let us know as
soon as possible. You can contact the parish office (847-2012) to
get the information. Just a reminder - your child needs to receive
the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and First Eucharist
before celebrating First Reconciliation.
CONFIRMATION/FIRST EUCHARIST
If your
child is in Grade 2 (or older), and you would like your child to
celebrate these sacraments, please contact the parish office at 847-2012.
Please contact the parish office for more information.
Presence at all our gatherings is required.
MARRIAGE
There are many details involved to
make your wedding ceremony a happy and memorable occasion! The
Church requires at least 6 months notification, and the parish
office should be notified prior to any planning being made.
Please contact the parish office to book an appointment and to
receive further information. Marriage preparation sessions are
compulsory, and are available at our parish.
THE SACRAMENT OF THE SICK
The Anointing of the Sick is meant for
those who are elderly, anticipating major surgery, and in times of
physical or mental distress. Arrangements can be made through
the parish office.
